General information for Dosbarth Gwyn

PE will take place every Monday – PE kit to be kept in school in lockers (plain white t shirt or polo shirt, black jogging bottoms or shorts, trainers).
Please return home reading books once your child has read the book and a parent has signed the yellow reading record. The children can return their book daily if they have read it.
We are a healthy school so ask for water bottles and a healthy snack for break time. Please cut grapes into quarters.
Please could all belongings be labelled, including jumpers and cardigans.

Topic this term

This term, we’re diving into an imaginative and creative journey with our topic Animal Magic. Through art, music, and hands-on activities, the children will explore the beauty and wonder of the animal world, using it as inspiration for their learning across the curriculum. Through this topic we will be:

Responding to artwork of birds and using them as inspiration for our own creations
Developing our observational skills by drawing what we can see
Learning shading techniques to add depth and detail
Exploring printing techniques to produce textured animal-themed art
Responding to music and thinking about how sound connects to animals and nature
Using body percussion to create our own rhythmic interpretations of animal movement and sounds
