Maths and Numeracy at Gwaunmeisgyn
At our school, we believe that Maths and Numeracy are key life skills that every child can enjoy and succeed in. Under the Curriculum for Wales, we teach maths in a way that connects with the real world, helping children to apply their learning in meaningful and practical ways.
From a young age, pupils are encouraged to develop confidence with numbers, problem-solving, and logical thinking. Whether it’s measuring ingredients in a recipe, reading a timetable, or exploring shapes in nature, we use everyday experiences to bring maths to life.
Our aim is to support all learners to become capable and confident mathematicians who can use their numeracy skills across the curriculum — and throughout life.
