Wythnos Gymraeg 2026
All staff and pupils enjoyed our Welsh Week, which reached its peak with our Eisteddfod. It was a day full of cultural activities and celebrations. Every child across the school took part in a variety of competitions, and this year, the standard was exceptionally high.
Our Criw Cymraeg took a starring role in our Eisteddfod, introducing each group, announcing the winners and congratulating everybody. Rydych chi'n bendigedig!
Clun were Eisteddfod ‘House winners’. Da iawn pawb!
Congratulations, Llongyfarchiadau to our winner of 'Guess the name of the Mascot'.
A llongyfarchiadau to our Year 6 pupil who was crowned in the Chairing of the Bard for exceptional story writing! Gwaith arbennig!
Let's Talk Languages! Day
What a fantastic 'Let's Talk Languages' day we celebrated in November! Pupils enjoyed a variety of tasks which challenged them to use lots of different skills to explore languages.
While we focused on Welsh and Spanish, we also celebrated the huge diversity of languages among our pupils! It was a great chance for children with different languages to share part of their heritage.
International Schools Award
In Spring 2025, we were proud to achieve the Foundation level of the British Council’s prestigious International School Award. This recognition celebrates the work we do at Gwaunmeisgyn to expand our pupils’ understanding of the wider world, promote global diversity, and help them grow into ethical, informed citizens of Wales and beyond.
