Welcome to our Reception class page.

Hello everyone!

                         Please see the useful class information below.

Class Teacher: Mrs Butler

Learning support assistants: Mrs Marshall & Miss Potts

Additional teacher: A cover teacher will be in class every Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays.

PE day: Tuesdays- please come wearing uniform and bring a PE kit in a labelled bag-  dark  leggings, shorts  or jogging bottoms, white t shirt and trainers. If pupils do not have spare trainers then come in wearing them every Tuesday. The PE kit will be sent home every half term to be washed.

Topic: Our Spring term wellbeing  topic is "We are what we eat!" a wellbeing topic to remind us all how to keep our bodies healthy. This will be for the first 2 weeks of term.

   Our second topic is called Flora and Fauna . Dosbarth Enfys will be learning about the plants  and animals we see around school,  Beddau and surrounding areas starting on 22nd January.  We will also learn how to look after plants, animals and our environment. 

Literacy: This term we will continue learning  our Read Write Inc sounds,  letter formations, writing our own names, shared writing tasks, learning  key words and guided reading skills. 

Maths: This term we will be focusing on number recognition, number formation,  counting forwards and backwards, more/ less, simple addition and subtraction.

Please remember the following:-

• We are a healthy school, so we ask for daily bottles with water and a healthy snack. Please could these be labelled with your child’s name. PLEASE cut grapes into quarters and no nuts for snack.

•  Bring reading bags every Friday and support pupils reading every day going over their reading books and key words with you at home. This really helps pupils consolidate their daily reading activities at school.

• Please label all clothing and belongings including ALL jumpers and cardigans. with pupil names to avoid loss or mix ups.
